MHA provides housing for low income families.
Milton Housing Authority was formed February 13, 1961 by Resolution Number 1 of the City of Milton, Florida, under Chapter 421, Part 1, Section 421.04 of the Florida Statutes. MHA has 39 apartments located in scattered sites in the City of Milton. The Authority also holds 342 Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers, which enable tenants to secure residences anywhere within the boundaries of Santa Rosa County, Florida. MHA is headed by an Executive Director and is governed by a seven member Board of Commissioners. The board members are appointed by the mayor of the City of Milton. However, the Authority operates under separate By-Laws and is independent of the City of Milton.
